Whatcom House is committed to making real estate information accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We strive to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.

What we do

  • Semantic HTML and proper heading hierarchy across all pages
  • Alt text on all informative images
  • Color contrast ratios that meet WCAG 2.1 AA (4.5:1 minimum on body text)
  • Keyboard navigation support throughout the site
  • ARIA labels on interactive elements where helpful
  • Resizable text without loss of function
  • Compatibility with screen readers (tested with NVDA and VoiceOver)

Known limitations

The IDX property-search widget is provided by a third party and may have accessibility gaps we cannot fully control. If you experience difficulty searching for properties, contact Genaro at (360) 389-6616 and he will help you find properties matching your criteria directly.
