Boulevard Park: Bellingham’s Living Room on the Bay

A summer evening at Boulevard Park on Bellingham Bay at sunset

SUMMER · ON THE BAY

Boulevard Park

Free summer concerts on the grass, right on Bellingham Bay.

Boulevard Park is Bellingham’s living room on the water — a stretch of bayfront green connected to Fairhaven by a lit boardwalk built right out over the waves. And on summer evenings it becomes the best free concert venue in town.

Summer concerts

Through the warm months the park hosts free outdoor concerts — blankets on the grass, kids on the waterfront walkway, sailboats out front, and the sun dropping behind the islands behind the stage. It is the kind of low-key, all-ages scene that defines summer here.

The park itself

Even without a show, Boulevard is a destination: the over-water boardwalk, a popular cafe in the old woodworks building, the South Bay Trail running through it, and some of the best sunset-watching in the city. It links downtown to Fairhaven on foot or by bike.

When and where

Boulevard Park sits on the bay between downtown and Fairhaven, a few minutes from either. The summer concert series runs on warm evenings — check the local listings, bring a blanket, and get there early for a spot on the grass.
